I love the open space.
The beams and brick are fantastic.
Love the gray/green paint color.

A cool shop located at 998 Valencia Street @21st here in San Francisco!

VIRACOCHA is a community-operated retail space, dedicated to the explorative nature of human expression, in the fields of Vintage Design & Fashion, Visual Art, Music, Spoken Word Poetry, Stand Up & Improvisational Comedy, as well as both Traditional & Experimental Theater & Dance.

I love that the walls are made from salvaged pallets.

world of interiors

This is my favorite shelter magazine.
It is not about "high" design, but about life.
People living in the world and using what they find around them.
Creating beauty.
This article is wonderful. Sorry about the bad photos, go out and get the May
issue to really appreciate the story.

agricultural past and turning his home, near Parma, into a museum of artfully
arranged rural artifacts."

He died at the age of 79 in 2000.

headdress

I love the Native American headdress on the mantle.
A colorful addition to any room.
It looks great on the classical sculpture below.
Grab a fun one at any costume shop!

safety first

Make sure you know where your fire extinguisher is and how to use it!!

P     A     S      S

Pull the Pin at the top of the extinguisher. The pin releases a locking mechanism and will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.
Aim at the base of the fire, not the flames. This is important - in order to put out the fire, you must extinguish the fuel.
Squeeze the lever slowly. This will release the extinguishing agent in the extinguisher. If the handle is released, the discharge will stop.
Sweep from side to side. Using a sweeping motion, move the fire extinguisher back and forth until the fire is completely out. Operate the extinguisher from a safe distance, several feet away, and then move towards the fire once it starts to diminish. Be sure to read the instructions on your fire extinguisher - different fire extinguishers recommend operating them from different distances. Remember: Aim at the base of the fire, not at the flames!!!!

Leave it to the French to design these beauties!

inspirations

This is a wonderful bedroom!
I love the big, bold pillows.
I would get rid of the mirror over the bed.
Something like that above your bed in San Francisco is not at good idea!

great space

101 Spring Street
NYC
One of the most fabulous spaces I have ever seen!
 I was lucky enough
to work here for a short time in the late 80's.
This space had a huge impact on me, as did the art and the artist himself.
Tours available of Donald Judd's home in NYC and Marfa, Texas.
Put these tours on your to-do list!
